Young Life's Timber Wolf Lake is a multi-phased youth camp consisting
of a master plan and fourteen different buildings. Currently,
thirteen of these buildings have been completed with the Assigned Staff
Building being
the most recent in the fall of 2008.
The DK Design Group has an ongoing relationship with Young Life and will continue to assist them in completing this $27 million project.
The Club Building serves as the camp's worship center and auditorium. Its interior and exterior performance areas will serve campers on a daily basis. The Club Building will also play host to visiting groups of up to 600 people.
The Club is constructed of exposed timber and steel trusses and
exposed timber columns. It is designed to seat up to 550 guests on
carpeted, concrete steps while still maintaining barrier-free access to
the raised platform and the seating area. The sliding barn style
doors which open to the open courtyard allow the praise team to lead
activities for groups outside as well as inside.
This building was completed in the spring of 2006.
The Dorm buildings were designed to house up to 112 people in 8
"cabins". This two story, wood frame dorm has proven to be
very
useful during camp season and during the retreat season. Each
cabin has its own bathroom and all eight share a common, two-story
lounge/meeting room.
Four of these dorms have now been constructed.
The Assigned Staff Housing was designed with longer term guests in
mind. This building houses staff of the camp in the summers, and
can be utilized for retreat groups in the off-camp seasons.
This large shared lounge area, sets opposite a similar dining and
kitchen area. These spaces greatly appeal to retreat groups,
allowing for meeting and dining spaces all within one building.
This 10-suite building incorporates larger, two-bedroom suites which are joined with a
spacious bathroom.
