The DK Design Group
     - Cadillac, MI

Built in the 1930's, this former Michigan State Police Post is typical of many built across the state.

The DK Design Group renovated the building and moved their offices into it in July of 2005.

The DK Design Group maintained the existing exterior of the building and enhanced its appearance with a new barrier free entry and extensive landscaping.

The former garage was transformed into a large conference room, and the former interrogation room was opened up with a glass wall and converted to a small conference room.  The bar where suspects were hand cuffed can still be seen.

Gerber Life Call Center
     - Fremont, MI

This design-build project was completed in November 2009.  The DK Design Group was first chosen to complete the initial 30% design of the building, and was later awarded the Design-Build Contract.  The construction phase was completed in seven months.

The interior was designed to incorporate 85% natural daylight.  The lighting package uses occupancy sensors, along with Daylight Harvesting, to take advantage of the natural light.

The exposed structure increases the perception of open space, while adding to the modern / industrial concept.  The sloping glass curtain walls and clerestory windows add modern elements to the more traditional building massing and palette of materials.

Chemical Bank
     - Cadillac, MI

This building was designed to reflect a contemporary form springing from a more traditional building base. It uses arched forms and wider expanses of glass in the center mass, the upper clerestory, and the drive-thru canopy. A galvanized steel, exterior skin is also used in these areas to carry that theme.

On the East and West ends, the building has a number of traditional elements such as the punched window openings, the flat-roofs and the use of masonry. These were intended to reflect a more traditional “bank” appearance and to tie the facility to its surroundings and the Mitchell streetscape.

Community Building
     - Emmet County, MI

This project completed in July 2005, is the result of a design-build competition. The DK Design Group created the winning design as well as the model to present to the county board.

This wood framed, 11,962 square foot building is designed for flexibility of use, both inside and out. It is the centerpiece of the Emmet County Fairgrounds Complex. With its open seating area and commercial kitchen, it will be used for fair activities, wedding receptions, trade shows, and many other community events.

Highland Christian Reformed Church
     - Marion, MI

Designed to increase worship space and fellowship space, this 6,536 sf addition provides seating for 426 with a full basement for future classroom development.

This project is primarily wood frame on top of a steel and pre-stressed concrete plank floor system. A masonry fire wall was implemented to eliminate the need of fire suppression in the existing church.

This facility was completed in the spring of 2014 in time for the 100 year celebration.

Carroll Investments
     - Cadillac, MI

This project was completed in the fall of 2013. The DK Design Group worked with the owner to reuse and repurpose an existing structure.

Chemical Bank
     - Benton Harbor, MI

This building reflects a design of both contemporary and traditional elements. The contempoary galvanized steel, exterior skin is used on the exterior, as well as the interior. The curved roof lines are also carried into the interior space with a radiused teller line. The owner has chosen to carry this theme throughout other buildings around the state.
